My day to day is fuelled by a night to night art practice.

I do not apply career expectations to Art. I do it make my own fun and to think stuff out. I work with Paper, Paint and Ink. Usually often dealing with themes that can be traced back to a prairie upbringing and a coastal reckoning.

Foundation Repair
Paper Craft Collage, 12 x 12
When I moved to the coast, I never thought I'd leave. Like any good house in Regina, Saskatchewan. I had foundation issues and returned in the interest of working out the buried issues.

Leaving the nature conservation obsessed west coast and returning to the fossil fuel hungry prairie was a shock to the system. This piece mixes a geological cross sections of oil deposit with a coastal highway out of town.

It was shown at the 2023 "100 Amigos" show, curated by Pablo Zamudio, Drew Young and Douglas Coupland.
Make Art While Apart
Mural
The spring of 2020 was a tough time for everyone.

While most stayed home to disinfect groceries and watch The Last Dance, several Vancouver shops sat empty and wood hoarding was installed to protect shop fronts.

I was commissioned by the Vancouver Mural Festival to Illustrate and Paint an uplifting, protective mural for a shop in the Fairview Area.

With the help and guidance of several friends, the mural came to be.

Solo Show / 2018
After moonlighting as a Commercial Illustrator for years, I wanted to see what would happen if I gave myself license to fill a room with my own ideas.

The final result was a series of illustrative painted vignettes and a solid night out at Slice of Life Gallery,

2018 was a long time ago. As years fly by and I continue to make art, the more I realize how much of this show was a scratching of the surface.

Today I am still playing with the themes and ideas I started to unpack with this show.
